An Open House from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. will take place on Monday July 26th and Wednesday July 28th 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. located within the City Hall lobby, 425 East State Street.  The draft zoning map amendments will be displayed and staff will be present for questions and answers. The drafting of the zoning map of the City of Rockford began last fall in effort in part to bring the zoning map designation into consistency with the newly adopted zoning ordinance, the existing uses and trends, and with the City of Rockford future land use category’s.  An update such as this is done periodically and the last complete zoning map update was drafted and adopted in 1993.  Discussion and comments are welcome and encouraged.  The draft amendments will be on display the week of the 26th in the Lobby of City Hall as well.

West State Street Corridor Project

A follow-up Design Workshop for the West State Street Linear Park Project will be conducted on Saturday, July 10, 2010, noon to 4:00 p.m., at Fire Station # 6, 3329 West State Street, Rockford, Illinois. 

The Design Workshop will present concept plans and gather comments for the linear park improvements along the West State Street Corridor.   The community is invited to attend and provide review and comment on the proposed plans for the project.

In addition to the Design Workshop, a community fair will take place at the workshop location with informational booths from organizations including the Rockford Park District, Rockford Mass Transit District, Crusader Community Health, Neighborhood Network, and various departments from the City of Rockford.
